Snapshots of Success

Class of 2005
“Everyone finishes their studies at their own pace. Even when things get hard, don’t give up - your hard work will eventually pay off.”
Enrique has always had a passion for education. While attending Chabot College, he was inspired by faculty member Francisco Zermeño’s dedication and love for the community. Although it took him nearly ten years to complete his education, he was grateful for the flexibility Chabot College offered through its availability of courses. In 2005, he earned his Associate in Arts and later transferred to CSU East Bay for his bachelor’s in Spanish.
Enrique grew up in San Leandro and has always been very active in the community. When he decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Education, he was grateful for former San Leandro Mayor Pauline Cutter, whose letter of recommendation caught the counselor’s attention. In 2021, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a perfect GPA and membership in three honor societies. He now holds two clear teaching credentials in History and Spanish. As a father of two, he is grateful to his wife for her support with his education and career. Today, Enrique is a high school teacher at San Leandro High School.
Enrique’s advice for students: Everyone finishes their studies at their own pace. Even when things get hard, don’t give up - your hard work will eventually pay off.
